New Music : ScHoolboy Q Ft. A$AP Rocky - Hands On The Wheel (January 2012) Habits & ...

Anyone who is up on the budding next generation of Rap has already been hipped to the sounds of guys like Jay Rock and Kendrick Lamar. Jay Rock, who joined forces with Tech N9ne's powerhouse Strange Music, joined the conversation a few years back, arguably starting with his daily tracks that inspired almost every rapper in the industry to follow suit. His debut album Follow Me Home came this past summer and since then has remained a name drop in the Nouveau Hip-Hop scene. Then of course there's Kendrick Lamar, who under the careful tutelage of Dr. Dre, landed on the rap map with a bullet thanks to his Section.80 project, along with rumors that he'd be on Dre's limbo-tastic opus, Detox. With major alliances come predictably smaller crew affiliations that carry the potential to evolve into supergroups. One such is Black Hippy, a group comprised of Jay Rock, Kendrick Lamar, Ab-Soul, and ScHoolboy Q. While Black Hippy is still in its infantile stages, the one member who impressed heads toward the latter part of 2k11 was ScHoolboy Q.
